Moving Out & Moving On

WOW! These past few days have been crazy! I never realized how much work it was to move away to college. It is actually a lot, considering you have to basically pack up your life, load it in a car, and leave what you don't want behind. These next 5 days will be spent packing, enjoying my own bathroom, and saying goodbyes! It seems so weird that I have friends going all over the U.S. but at the same time, it feels right. I am so ready to get out and experience a life on my own. I cant wait to get some pictures of the dorm and post them.

When Nothing Goes Right, Go Left!

Its been a while since i've posted! I've been so busy with last minute dorm shopping, and I have also spent the last few days at the lake. It was a much needed FUN trip!

I cant believe that I move away in 11 days (tomorrow). I couldn't be more happy to start a new chapter in my life. There are so many changes happening, some for the good and some for the bad. At the end of the day, I have to remind myself that God has a bigger plan for me than what I have for myself. Sometimes I feel like I get so caught up in what I think is supposed to happen and I forget how to accept reality and move on with it. God puts people in our lives for a reason, but he also takes them out for a reason too. Which sometimes really sucks, but thats all apart of his big plan for me. If anything, I've been able to learn that people change, things do go wrong for a reason, and I can now accept that.

Lazy Day

I slept in this morning for the first time in a while! 11:00 is extremely late for me. I had a pretty eventful/adventurous night with Kathleen and Claire last night. Lets just say that we are so lucky Claire's car isn't all banged up from a deer! We missed it by less than a foot. I really tried to enjoy a lazy day of the bravo channel, but i was constantly interrupted by my brother smashing things around and screaming at the xbox. Its kind of amusing to hear the things he yells at a TV though haha. Im going to dinner tonight at Chuys with some of my long lost friends and hopefully we will find something fun to get into tonight! Today there is officially 24 days until I move out of the house, FOREVER! I'm very excited but at the same time its a bittersweet thing. From that day on, ill never really live at home again! Ill just be moving my stuff around for the rest of my life! It hasn't really hit me yet though. IM JUST HOPING FOR A GOOD NIGHT TONIGHT!!!

These Are A Few Of My Favorite Things!

I miss cheerleading SO much! I can't believe that these 4 years have gone by so fast! I am so thankful for the 11 girls that I am so blessed to be able to call best friends though. I also miss coach more than anything! She has been a great role model to me in my high school years and i'm so glad I can now call her "Brooke" and treat her as if she is one of my besties, cause she is ;)

I love jewelry, especially rings! I tend to like the big oversized ones more though. My absolute favorite is the big blue and green flower ring in the middle :)

This adorable pillow was one of the most rewarding graduation gifts I received. Joseph Mote, one of the down syndrome kids that I had the opportunity to work with, gave this to me right after the graduation ceremony along with the sweetest thank you notes I have ever gotten! He is an angel and I will miss him very much next year!

My red Louis Vuitton clutch/side bag! This was THE BEST birthday gift ever given to me by THE BEST parents in the world. I am a Louis Vuitton freak, and just about every dollar I get is saved for the next purchase!
DIET COKE!!! I have to have my diet coke, period-the-end!
The two most important things of my favorite things! Haha, they would be my cell phone and my car keys! What in the world would I ever do without these?!?
SHOES!!! I will confess that I am a shop-a-holic. My biggest weakness when it comes to shopping is shoes. I just cant seem to pass up a good pair of them ;)My room is my favorite place in the whole world. I recently redecorated my room, and this go-round I was the decorator. My favorite part of my room would be between the wallpaper or the black crystal chandelier.

This is my favorite necklace that I own. I got this from the aquapalooza last summer that was held on Lake Martin. They had all kinds of neat booths set up, and at this particular booth this man was taking a piece of wire and bending it into names with pliers!

A True Friend Always Carries Glue...Just In Case!

WOO HOO!!! After 6 years of acrylics, I finally decided to take them off today. Now heres the challenge, lets see just how long this will last! I tend to go back a week later and put them right back on. Meredith and I met up with Mrs. Copeland for sewing day number 2! We got the curtains and chair covers almost finished, just a few more details here and there on them. I am so very thankful for Mrs. Copeland and how she is giving up a few days of her summer to spend at the school sewing with us. I think we spend more time talking and catching up than we actually do sewing :) I started reading an awesome book and i've cried all the way through chapter 10! Its called "Charlie St. Cloud" its coming out in a movie soon so I wont give any details away about it, but its been a great book so far! It has also been a good reminder of what life is all about, and how it is so easy to get too caught up in the future, forgetting how to live in the moment and cherish what we have now. When i took a second to think about what I am most thankful at this moment in life, the first thing that came to my mind was my friends. My friends are the reason that I make it through each and every day. I've been going through so many different changes at home, with people, and getting ready to move off, that sometimes its so easy to come un-glued. Thankfully, i've got some of the best friends by my side to keep me together :) We have all decided that the time has come to get SKINNY for rush! We have been working out doing a class called Zumba and its so much fun! Its basically hard core dancing for an hour every monday and thursday nights. On the other days, Meredith and I have gone to Veterans park and walked the 3 mile track! Great time to get some good gossip in! Zumba in T minus 1 hour!!!

Theres a first time for everything!

This is officially my first blog! My best friend Meredith and I decided this was a good way to start the next chapter in our lives and stay connected to our friends and family as we all go different places in life, starting this fall! We move into Tutwiler in less than a month, 27 days to be exact. We have been working our butts off on our room, but it is going to be ADORABLE when were finished! I am looking forward to sharing the next chapter/chapters of my life on here.
